We are so excited to be entering the last 48 hours of the campaign. This has been an incredible ride, and Darwin’s Journey will soon become our most funded campaign ever.

LAST 72 hours - Debossed unlocked and Most Anticipated Game of 2021

We hope you had a great weekend!
This campaign really has flown and we are entering the last 72h of this incredible Journey, with almost 12’000 of you.
You have unlocked the debossed finish for the player boards and headed towards the final goal for the Tile Wax Seals. We couldn’t feel prouder of this new achievement we accomplished together.
While we update the “Inside the box” section of the campaign page with everything we have unlocked, in this update we are announcing our last 2 live streams, but don’t worry! We will keep doing them even after the campaign.

DAY 18 - Darwin’s Journey Tournament starts now, and Fireland gameplay

Dear Explorers,
We are entering the final week of the campaign and we couldn’t be more excited! We are working towards achieving the plastic insert for the game and after that, we will have our final reveal of the campaign!

Yesterday we really had a blast playing the Fireland Expansion live with our game designers: Simone Luciani and Nestore Mangone. A livestream full of incredible revealing moments and great combos in the game. For the ones that were there with us, thank you so much!

Darwin’s Journey Tournament starts now!
With almost 3’000 downloads of Darwin’s Journey on Tabletop Simulator we couldn’t pass on a chance to see you play!
We have prepared everything to be as organized as possible and we hope you will be able to join. Please notice that Tabletop Simulator is required to play the game digitally.
The tournament will be divided into 2 phases. Qualifications and Organized Brackets.
Qualifications Tournament Rules
We are opening today the Qualification stage that will run until February 1st 2021.
We have updated the Tabletop Simulator module and you will be able to find the Tournament setup, which will be the same for every participant (including Drafting, Variability, Wax Seals and Personal Objectives order and position).
How to join:
1) Visit our discord channel to find other players to play with. In our best efforts to have a fair play tournament, you are required to play with people communicating by voice and on Tabletop Simulator.
2) You can only play a single qualification game and the winner of the match will be gathering your scores and information to send it over by using our official form.
3) DO NOT shuffle anything in the game as everything has been set up to be pre-established for all the participants.
4) After a few minutes of play, a unique match code will be generated and will be found below the game box in the virtual room. Please take careful note of that code as it is the only way for us to accept an entrance and it helps to track the logs of the match.
5) We only accept entries for 3 player games and 4 player games. You cannot join the tournament in 2 players or in Solitaire.
6) Have fun, be polite with the rest of the players and enjoy yourself, which is the most important thing.
At the end of the match, the winner needs to access the form that will be available by clicking the button below, in order to fill in all the results, including the email addresses of each participant.
Depending on the attendance, the top 10% or 20% of participants (based on the scores of each of the player counts) will be joining the organized bracket stage, where a judge will be overseeing the match and taking notes of the winners.
The final match will be played live and commented for you to follow and watch!
We do have prizes planned but as per Kickstarter policies, we will have to wait for the Organized play stage with more information happening directly on our website. This tournament is not considered a giveaway and rewards will not be assigned during the campaign.
We can’t wait to interact with you all, and be sure to join our discord channel for any questions, clarifications and to find players with your same time zone!

DAY 16 - Fireland Expansion, and Wax Seals photos!

We hope you are all doing great! Yesterday we had an amazing time with many of you that joined our live stream for the Great Ship mini-expansion.

Wax Seals pre-production (colors not final)
We recently received samples of the soft plastic Wax seals. The feeling is just amazing and the material is perfect for what we wanted to achieve.
At this point we just need to study the colors better and choose the best Pantone colors for each type of seal, so please don’t take that into consideration.
We hope you like them!
Fireland Expansion
Tomorrow we will be unveiling the Fireland Expansion in a live stream with the game designers: Simone Luciani and Nestore Mangone.
The Fireland introduces two new mechanisms in the game: adventures and time, which are very connected.
Moreover, the expansion introduces a brand new map La Tierra del Fuego, in Argentina.
As you can see, many paths are intertwined, and exploring the land will unlock new ships, that by traveling the ocean will unlock even more explorers.
By exploring and navigating, you will be able to surpass a new type of ribbon and embark on adventures that will have two different choices. The better the reward, the more time you will have at your disposal to perform such adventures.
Every time you spend time, you will go down on the time track, and by reaching a certain threshold you will have ongoing penalties, like walking or navigating less when performing those specific actions. Recovering time is possible, but you will need to plan very carefully how to do it.
The expansion also adds different rewards at the end of each track that you will be able to change on each game.
We definitely recommend playing some matches of the base game before embarking on this expansion, as it will completely change the way you think about your strategy, adding even more variability and life to your game experience.
